Emilie Kate Saxophonist – CT
Emilie Kate is a Cape Town-based saxophonist and a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Studies) graduate from the South African College of Music (UCT). She performs with leading ensembles including Little Giants, the CTIJF Kazz Orchestra, the Lady Day Big Band, and the Muneeb Hermans Big Band, while also building her career as a solo artist.
Emilie has appeared on stages such as the CTICC, Artscape, Baxter Theatre, GrandWest Grand Arena, and the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre. She has led her own band at Jazz on the Rocks and the inaugural Table Mountain Jazz Festival, and recently performed at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival with Benjamin Jephta and Kujenga.
Internationally, Emilie Kate has performed in Nigeria, Germany, and at the Journey to Jazz Festival in Prince Albert. In 2023, she was featured as both an interviewee and performer on Cape Town TV’s EKSE program.
